it would be nice to shoose clock in 24h format. Very very nice App

Nice

Ipad version is awesome, this is very nice also. Its be nice to have as many options as in the ipad version (pressure, temperature map etc). Also, its a shame not to be able to chose our view point, for example, always showing sunset or sunrise side of earth, the suns or the moons wiewpoint, instead of a fixed city.

Not too bad.

Pretty well designed application. However, it would be better if multilingual and with a feature giving the possibility to see straight on the map the weather forcast instead of the top corners.

Living Earth HD

Hello, In my opinion this app has a lot of potential but at the moment the rendering of the earth could be much better. I have a 5k imac and the earth look’s to blurry, needs to be a whole lot more sharper. So untill true High Res Textures are used I will definately not be recomending this app. Mat

Boring and full of bugs

Actually a simple App, with impressive look. But the look always stays same - gets boring. The App was not even able to show the correct time and the app freezes here and there. 5,49,--? NO WAY!

Bad Data

Im in Obsteig, Austria right now its 22 °C and beautiful weather. The app says its 7 °C and foggy. I refreshed it the last few hours but it wont change.

Not actually useful as a screensaver.

I bought this with the sole intent of using it as a screensaver as I do a regular system screensaver. It was only after I made the purchase and struggled for ten minutes that I found the small print that said it cannot be used as a system screensaver to lock the Mac. So effectively, this is useless to me. Its otherwise nicely polished and it does what it says it does nicely. Id prefer if it was more clear up front that this is not fully compatible with the OS X screen saver infrastructure, and sold on its other merits.

English only!

Its a nice APP and I would like to give this APP a higher rating, but Ill wait until it will be available in German language as well.

The Best!

Absolutely stunning….. As I would expect coming from the ios apps. Well worth $5. Great job with this app, and the walpaper plus screen saver are an amazing touch. Love it!

Looks great, works well, but . . .

In the preferences, you can select any set of cities you wish, and arrange those cities in any order you like. In screensaver preferences, you can set it to "Explore my cities". But when it "explores", it visits them in some random order that it generates itself, spinning the globe back and forth - in both directions. I tried to solve that by arranging my cities in an east to west order, but screensaver mode ignores my preferred order of cities to bounce around in no apparent order at all. I find the result dizzying, distracting and disconcerting. This app features a lovely rendering of earth; its purpose is to report on weather conditions. Programming it in a manner that plays fast and loose with the physics seems counter to its function, and undermines its credibility. Correct those small design errors, and it would earn 5 stars, especially given the low price.

Nice weather app

A greater level of zoom would be awesome, or a user defined level of of zoom would make this app much more useful than just a global view.

Great app

This application does just what is advertised here and it does so in a reliable and mostly bugfree way. By far the most impressive feature is the live cloud map rendered on a gorgeous three dimensional Earth model. Like any application, even this software has its glitches, though. In certain situations (unfortunately I was unable to reproduce them) the weather data is not refreshed until the app restarts, leading to outdated weather information in the menubar icon. As an improvement, I would love to have the option to view timezone information beneath the local time. E.g. below New Yorks local time there should be something like (EST, UTC -5:00). This is especially useful if one observes the whole world through this application and tries to learn the timezones of certain places around the globe by heart, like I do. All in all, the software is well worth its price.

need to know the upcoming weather from the coast - but no

There was a strange weather system reported yesterday over the coast of Vancouver Island, BC Canada. I would like to track this as some severe windstorms occured three days after this cloud formation appeared last time. But there is no network for Vancouver BC, strangely, even the weather of Calgary, Alberta - the capital of a rocking oil industry - is absent. I dont need entertainment - I need usefulness, especially with this weather due in a week. This day and age one would expect the programers to add Canadian cities to the database.

Add to lock screen!

Seriously. Otherwise its great!

Awesome

I love how it shows weather in all cities, and the best part your desktop is live. Real cloud cover and rotating planet. :)))

Weak...

Not worth the price! The wallpaper is ordinary (you can have better and free elsewhere); the 3D Earth is not that good, overrated; the rest: you can have all that for free on the web, and in most languages instead of only one here.

Its Cool!

I think its a really cool app. I use it mainly for weather updates and find it does the trick. I would like to see maybe a satellite weather view as an option.

Very Nice!

Very difficult to criticize, I am very pleased overall. I downloaded to my 27inch iMac today, looks amazing and works prefectly. I appreciate being able to get detailed weather information for specific locations important to me directly from the menu bar. I have a number of "earth" wallpapers and screen savers, this is the coolest by far.

Fantastic. Serene.

Pristine and clean. It reminds me of "Beautiful Evidence" the great book on design by Edward Tufte. Love it.

Nice

Very nice app but would love the 24 hrs clock...
