I do like this application very much
It is certainly my favorite way to check on the weather locally and around the world including large storms world wide. I like to keep track of the direction the world is taking. As it is I find myself telling people about how places like Machu PIcchu near Cuzco Peru, Vulture Peak near Rajgir India where the Buddha used to meditate, have changed since I was there 30 years ago. Even places that are now entirely gone due to violent storms. I also remember an Encyclopedia that used to come with Windows and had a revolving Earth on the opening screen. It had a bug listed that was with all the other MS Bugs. It had the standard bug report format and a short description of the problem “Error: Earth rotates in wrong direction”.
Perhaps someday you could make a version of this App that combines some aspects of the Apple “Time Machine” application which would allow user to look backward and forward in time to see how the Earth was and how it will be (on the large, geographic scale), updated regularly with data based on the current scientific consensus, looking ahead until the Earth no longer exists or there is no one left to see it, whichever comes first.
